    I'll be at BeaveRun in Wampum, PA with NESBA for trackdays on Sat/Sun, Aug 13 & 14 if anyone wants to join me. :cool: NESBA has a $25 membership option now, makes it easier on the budget if you're just doing a couple of days with them.

    I won't be on a big bike but if I get my mini up and running by then I may try to hit the kart track that day. If I end up over there I'll let you know. I'll probably be there for a bit this Saturday to watch the practice for the "Eastern Mini Championship" that will take place on Sunday. I have a 24hr shift ending at 0800 Sat AM so not sure if I'll have enough left to make the drive. If I would have had my bike sorted in time I'd be riding with them this weekend.

    slickwill, how's the XR? I saw from your posts on the Ohio Mini forum that you'd picked one up. I'm considering the same thing. There are a few XRs for sale, cheap, on craigslist. I'll probably have to wait until race season ends until I have the funds available though...

    Thanks for stopping by and saying hello, slick! Good to see you. Cyclox and I were there riding. My day ended on a bad note. Crashed im turn 1. I'm fine but the bike flipped and will need a bunch of parts. Might be able to ride it tomorrow sans bodywork. We'll see.

    Wow, glad you're okay. I didn't stay long. I spent a bit of time talking to cyclox, then watched the karts, the autocross, then headex for home.

    There is a great article on this Corvair in the current Hot Rod Magazine. A lot of hand crafted parts using a 100yr old lathe. It was a father/son HS shop class project that got an A. Weighs in at 2800 pounds with nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The son has gone on to an ME degree now.
