No one brought one? I didn't take the time to research the makes in the field but I'm guessing one wasn't entered in the class.

I think it just said "all the major brands".

I can't imagine going that fast on unstable ground. Wouldn't it feel like running off the track on grass?

I can't tell from the 'article' whether modifications are allowed. I've never read that the stock bike would go 200, so what this could mean is that there is a land speed record for everyone.
  7. abtech Believe

Not at all. It's actually pretty well planted and other than when shifting hard under power (required to get up to top speed) isn't unstable at all.
  8. abtech Believe

I think she was running production which doesn't even allow cutting down the levers.

Ok 160 stuff aside, I don't see how they could run that speed without even changing the rear sprocket. I've bounced off the rev limiter before and it wasn't 200 I guarantee it. So that means the computer would have to at least be upgraded to knock out the rev limiter right?

Is that bike missing a front brake rotor, or is it just my imagination????
  11. abtech Believe

Gearing changes are allowed. Dunno about the front rotor deal but it has been a few years since I ran at Bonneville so I am certain the rules have changed over time. They are pretty strict and even seal the gas cap after they have you fuel up with the spec product.

08, I'll bet she is 100 pounds lighter than you so there is both power to weight and effective airflow to consider.

She also utilizes the Rollie Free riding position, evidently.

I thought weight would only be a consideration in acceleration, but has minimal effect on top speed.
