With just a ~9 bhp (real world/dyno) difference?

And what was that someone just said in another thread: 97% rider, 3% bike?

I'll take your bet, my friend ... and look better, be more comfortable, and have better range doing it, too ... :)

I was thinking the Connie actually made more power, no?

Edit: I guess according to sportriders dyno the VFR does make more, well I'll be... Looks like the VFR only makes more power north of 9000 RPM though...

All right guys, please, if you want to compare bikes, start a comparo thread.

Let's make this thread informative on the VFR1200, pulling your peckers out and measuring is a different discussion...
    CBRVFR likes this.

I guess I missed the graph posted above, I guess not being signed in means I didn't see it.

I was just hassling phobe in fun (he knows that, as he and I discussed my *almost* purchase of a VFR1200 a few months ago).

Sorry for actually trying to enjoy myself on these forums ... :crap:

    Looks really nice!

Do you anticipate any negative impact on torque or drivability because of the loss of all that flapper plumbing?
  12. phobe vfr1200fa.blogspot.com

The flapper plumbing is all about passing the noise tests. It's not like the old R1s and CBRs that had an EXUP valve in the collector. In the VFR it's just a bypass within the muffler. I had it disconnected on the stock muffler. It was actually more torquey after the flapper was disabled.

Honda's solution for more grunt was to use unequal-length headers which along with the funny crankpins sort of make the engine behave like 2 separate parallel twins working together.

You really have a nice blog going on that bike.

    Love the sound. :thumb:
