I thought your problems happened on the way to the track? :poke: :p

I always have frickin' problems going to Grattan.

My 929 sucked a washer and bent a valve on the first session after the parade laps at FBO/MCADX Days I.

Dan Kyle overnighted me a head and with the help of my friends I was able to ride the Friday practice to get up to speed on the track to race the weekend after the event with GLRRA, and then drive around the lake for a STAR school at Road America the following Monday. :)

Dang - I didn't realize it was that involved. That's right up there with the Carney Racing 'engine swap inside a moving trailer' story in terms of commitment.

After all the drama, while torquing in the upper head/engine mount bolts (the one the sliders use in 929s/954s) the damn boss on the head broke. I had to drop it back down, and abtech found a welder to come out to the track and weld the piece back on with the threads aligned. Dude was drunk as a skunk when he got there, but his weld was solid and the threads perfect.
