Too bad I'm not in the market for a motorcycle.... 1990 GB500TT bit of a rat but would be the coolest pit bike with a little work: Motocompo pair of NS400Rs ultra clean arr-see thirty roon I'd be tempted to buy the motocompo for a fun little restoration project but I'm pretty sure my wife would kill me.
The GB500 is something that I actually hadn't seen until I ordered one of those 1990 Honda brochures that you posted awhile back. I think it's pretty cool. The Motocompo is new to me. I think my dad would love one of those. The NS400s are pretty sweet. I'd love to add one to the garage. I've been drooling over the RC in the other thread for awhile now...it's still hot. The Rune...I don't get it, never will.
I had the distinct displeasure of riding an NS400r at Grattan several years ago. The things are pigs and make maybe 20 HP with a tailwind. My Honda Elite would stay alongside up to 30 miles an hour. I rode two different ones and they were exactly the same.
It may be a "tribute" to the NSR500 triple but it's a pretty lame tribute . . . . Hard to tell if it handled very well because I could run around the corners faster than the bike. I do remember both ends being like pogo sticks though . . . . .
Never heard of one until I saw that listing. I wonder what it would take to make it fast? Probably not worth it. I've always thought the motocompo was a hip little toy. I wonder if they could ship it across the border as "motorcycle parts"
those NS400's have been for sale before, guess they didn't go the last time I saw them. if you want a 400 you'd be much better off going for a VFR/RVF or FZR. maybe even the more common (outside of NA) inlines like the CBR and Ninja 400s
Well they're not very common (400cc Triple with a weird crank configuration) and have all the emmissions crap on them. They are also pretty heavy with old tech chassis and suspension components. An RGV250 running on one cylinder would eat the NS alive. The RGV is a much better platform and reasonably lightweight.
