Time to chase the electrical gremlin

    Don't check for current since you know the circuit is non functioning. Check for voltage. If it is there then the issue is further downstream. Isn't there a diagram in your manual?

    Current, voltage same difference. it read 0.0volts. yes there's a diagram in the manual but its gibberish to me. I'm gonna check the high beam switch next cause I don't remember ever checking that before and its easy enough to open up and check.

    There's your problem right there. :D

    Didn't see it mentioned but have you checked the battery? Is the bike still starting normally? Last time I had a battery issue (low charge due to the stator failing), the first thing I noticed was the headlights quit.

    the lights went out over a year before the stator failed. and its not the battery, I've tried 3 different ones. one being brand new last summer and only used for a couple track days. all charged over the winter and kept "topped off" so to speak.
