If it was an'86 for that price, in that condition, I would have posted some pics of the bike on the ride home instead of the ebay link. I just can't get past the single headlight '85 upper fairing. Looks like a sweet deal, though.

He ran out of garage space. Didn't you see the pics of his Kawasaki he posted yesterday? They were in front of a storage place. :p

Ninerpilot - I hope you're all over that bike. :deal:

Did the 1000 have gear driven cams? They weren't known to have cam wear issues like the first generation V-4's did they?
  4. taglicious yep... that's what I thought

did you guys see the ebay listing... read down in his commentary of what other ebay users were commenting on the bike... geesh...

*or was that you guys making all that noise and trying to get a better deal and rape the guy while his pimp is gone*

Don't give us "Hmmmm" Put that thing in your garage.

    It is red, after all...

Without being flippant, would you enjoy and ride it more than the VTX? Seems like a lot of bang for the buck.

I already have a VFR in my garage and I'd buy that if I had the money right now. Looks like a great buy at that price with those miles.

Is this the real Dave? ;)

Seriously, it does sound like a good deal...possibly too good, just like the last VFR I checked from CL that was a little too hot to touch. I do enjoy riding a cruiser, but I'll always have a soft spot for VFR800's (5th gen, of course).

At least go look at it. Preferably with a wad of cash in your pocket. :D

Puhleez...5th Gens are underpowered, lardy and lack character...you'll never hang with the fast guys in the backroads on a bike like that...fact.

Does seem almost too good to be true. If it's the real deal, jump on it!

FWIW I definitely like riding my VFR more than my VTX.

Especially when their riders slow to wave elaborately at every two wheeled vehicle on the road.

I think you should save a couple hundred and get a cherry '94 with tasteful upgrades instead. :poke:
  18. gt702 Oh the memories

Take both, they are small and you know you want the whole set. :D

Besides, someone has to take the temptation away. My 94 has just over 63k and was pretty comfy riding to work Thursday and Friday ... and the sound of that V4

It's in Macomb County. I'm there on Tuesdays and Thursdays (for the next couple weeks, at least, as I'm changing jobs @ the end of the month). If anybody wants me to take a look @ it, I'd be happy to.
