VFR1200-T model, urban legend?

    It's safe to assume that Honda planned/plans to borrow from their existing VCM...Variable Cylinder Management technology that closes the valves on unneeded cylinders. (more correctly, it just doesn't open them)

    Make sure you get to page 3 where they detail how it works, and where the energy is saved. (pumping loss eliminated in inactive cylinders, reduced pumping loss in active cylinders, and reduced valvetrain frictional losses)

    I spose it would have to have hydraulic lifters.... They need to collapse to deactivate the cylinders.

    Yeah, most likely it would use the same oiled pin actuation scheme as VTEC... :twocents:

    Which would make it incompatible with the Unicam design. It would need rocker arms for intake and exhaust. It will have to be a SOHC head or a humungous DOHC.

    There was a rumor of 3 cam motor with a unicam front bank and a DOHC rear bank.
