My local dealer is listed as one of the places. I sat on one in Indy and found it incredibly weird to not have the levers in place.

Interesting selection of dealers. Closest to Detroit is 200 miles away in a little town in Ohio SE of Cleveland, and the one is Michigan is 500 miles away in the west of the UP, north of Greenbay, Wisconsin. Seems like they don't really want people to try them out.

I realize it might be a little cold out but WTF with the lack of nothing northern/eastern?

Might be closest for me, or pirate Kansas. Either way it is a long drive

I noticed that too. NH down to VA has a huge percentage of the US population but the closest is just east of Cleveland.

Lame! Only about 10 states are listed. Well done, Honda.

As long as I don't get called in to work on Saturday I think I'm going to take a ride up to the dealership and take my turn.

And that one is a small town. The Wiki says Middlefield had a population of 2233 in the 2000 census, and "Middlefield is the center of the world's fourth largest Amish settlemen". The Middlefield site says "the Village of Middlefield has remained the center of activity for the eastern half of Geauga County". Nothing like putting it in a hot bed of riders wheres those who could actually afford the bike can take a look.

The one in Utah on that list is the only "full Powerhouse" Honda dealer in the state. I wonder if that has anything to do with where the demos are done?
  17. gt702 Oh the memories

what makes a "full Powerhouse" Honda dealer? When I clicked the "powerhouse" circle in the Honda site, it still gives me 10 dealers in NE Ohio, with this one being the most remote.

Just for Fun Honda is in the middle of nowhere Ohio (estimating 40 minutes drive through the country from the nearest freeway) in an area where the sales would be ATVs, generators, and a few cruisers.

The Michigan location is even more remote. There was almost nothing up in that area, for at least an hour in either direction, when I toured through there some years ago.

I just seems strange to me the limited number of locations, and the remoteness of those locations, to introduce North America to this great new technology. :dunno:

My dealer is a Powerhouse dealer as well - not sure if it's the only one in the state or not.
  19. bda116 Done.

What I was told is that there are Powerhouse dealers that sell Honda exclusively, and all the Honda lines, then there are Powerhouse dealers that do the same but had showrooms designed according to specific outlines from Honda.
They are the "full Powerhouse" guys.
But that's all secondhand info, not direct from a Honda rep or anything.
There is another Powerhouse dealer in Utah (that isn't a "full" dealer according to the info I was given), but it is the Powerhouse with the smaller black logo and the other "full Powerhouse" is the larger red logo.

I don't know what any of it means, just trying to make sense of why the one dealer in Utah was chosen over any other dealers.
  20. gt702 Oh the memories

Went to do it again and noticed I could search for the powersports dealers. The one in Middlefield is a full power sport, but so are about 4 others that aren't listed in the participating dealers, including one in Troy, Michigan, which is an affluent suburb of Detroit and in an area of fairly large numbers of sport and touring riders.

I can't find the sense in it other than Honda wants to limit the number or type of people who are demoing the bike. Maybe only those who have already made up their mind they like the idea will spend the time and expense to drive to these out of the way places to demo?
