What's up?

Is it my imagination or does there appear to be quite a bit fewer trackday events scheduled for this spring? Maybe this is just the case with STT?

Most likely the economy is catching up with them.

yeah bad economy. Nesba isn't doing any track days in the midwest. CCS Southwest is suspending racing for 2012 due to only have 70 racers participate last year. I know the 2 main organizations that run in NH are raising prices because the track is raising the price to rent it.

Another vote for bad economy. If money's tight, people sacrifice trackdays to pay the rent. The trackday org where I was a control rider for 5 years closed up shop at the end of 2010. On the other hand, the group I started riding for last year had a banner year, selling out almost every day. Contraction of the marketplace, I guess.

And, as it turns out, one of our venues down here in the SE is shutting down and possibly going up for sale. That would be the Nashville Speedway. So, no more trackdays there :^( ...

Speedway Motors should buy it. While I'm not a huge fan of riding on Nascar ovals the money it brings in helps a lot of things.
